So, I started 3D printing recorder mutes for my students last year, and they have been a huge life (and ear) saver! More students can practice at home without being yelled at, PLUS when you have a class full of them using the mute, it's not nearly as hard on the ears! The mute has a hole to attach to the recorder using a string (I use yarn), and it has a curved side and a flat side for two different levels of muting. They are made using PETG, which is a nice strong material that will bend, but not break easily.
